The writing project, with its rough renditions ("composition versions"), has now transitioned into more of a genuine recording project.

Meaning that it's time to think gear. For me, anyway, and although I know a lot of y'all couldn't care less about such things, there are a few gearheads in every crowd. So here is a list of gear I'll be using in this project.

Every project studio musician has a wish list of things that would really upgrade his studio and ultimately, the artistic product. Here are a few things I'd like to step into eventually:

Fretless bass (preferably Music Man Stingray)

AKG C414 microphone (there are numerous variations, but they are minor)

Pearlman TM-1 microphone (at around $1750 US, it looks pricey, but experts put its transparency and sound in the same league as the Neumann U47, which is many times the price, and considered a standard-setter). Preferably with an A-Designs Pacifica preamp to pair it up with....
